The club intermediate team had their first outing of the year when St.Michaels came to Corballa for the first round of the Benson cup. A strong crossfield wind and fairly testing underfoot conditions meant the standard of football was not great.

However we started the stronger and were leading 1-3 v no score with our scores coming from Kevin Langan, Eoin Flynn, David Carrabine and the goal from Alan Cawley. Michaels then came into the game and got 1-1 in the next few minutes with the goal a volley after three great blocks initially by the defence. We responded with points from Niall Judge and Brian Curley to lead at the break 1-5 v 1-1.

It took us time to get settled in the second half and Michaels had reduced the gap to two points but
then two points from Kevin Langan eased us over the line winning 1-7 v 1-4.
