Sunday evening after the Sligo minor game saw Tubbercurry arrive in Corballa. The conditions were perfect for a game and our lads got off to a great start when we goaled in 30 seconds from Kevin McDonnell. He followed this up two minutes later with a point from play. We were dominant at this stage and the Tubber keeper made a number of great saves. Paul Kilcullen scored a monster point from out in midfield but then Tubber took over and made inroads into our lead. John McDonnell had to leave the field after taking a heavy knock to the head and was replaced by Stevie Kilgannon. We scored two points before the halftime break with points from Niall Judge and a Kevin Langan free leaving the scores equal at the break 1-4 v 0-7.

Tubber missed two frees early in the second half and we eventually broke the deadlock with a Kevin Langan point from play in the 10th minute. Niall Judge followed this up with a point from play . Tubber brought the scores level with 10 minutes to go but despite losing our captain Kevin Langan with an ankle injury our lads stepped up their efforts and great long range points from Brian Curley, Stevie Kilgannon put us up. Again Tubber pulled it back but two final points from play from Michael Langan and Niall Judge put us in front and after 7 minutes of injury time the referee blew the final whistle.

It was great to see the younger members of the team step up when we came under pressure with Alan Naughton, Crouch Howley, Stevie Kilgannon, Martin Foody, Keith Earlis and keeper Anthony Kilcullen all shining. Next game is away to Eastern Harps away.
