The final round of the league section of the intermediate championship took place on Friday evening in Enniscrone. Having secured our semi final spot the previous week there was nothing but pride at stake for the team whilst Farnans were playing for a playoff place.

The first 4 minutes was helter skelter with us going into the lead from the throw in with a Kevin Langan point and this was followed by a goal fisted to the net by Stevie Curley after great work by Kevin McDonnell and Kevin Langan. Farnans responded with a a stunning goal. Things quietened  down after that whirlwind start but despite playing against the wind we took control and scored points from Niall Judge, Kevin Langan, Paul Kilcullen, Pat Naughton and Michael Langan meant we were in control at half time 1-9 v 1-1.

Like the first halfway we got another whirlwind start when Kevin Langan and Niall Judge dispossed the full back and Judge finished to the net. We tacked on a few points as did Farnans but we had won the midfield battle at this stage and it was no surprise when Kevin McDonnell drove to the net after hitting the crossbar the minute before. Curley, Langan, Pat Naughton, John McDonnell, Brian Howley and Judge points meant we had won the game long before the end. At the final whistle Farnans broke in for a goal and the result meant they went out on score difference and Easkey progressed to the quarter finals.

The team now get ready for a semi final in 2-3 weeks.
