A weakened senior team hosted Eastern Harps on Sunday. The lads had a sluggish start and fell three points behind, 1-2 to 2 points. However they came into the game and thanks to points from Eamonn Cawley, Stephen Curly, Kevin Langan and Patrick McGuiness and a well taken goal from Stephen Curly, and some excellent defending from Michael Langan, Ronan Keane And Patrick McGuiness pulled into a four point lead. Harps pulled back another goal from a penalty but more points from Stephen Curly, Kevin Langan and Eoin Flynn restored the four point lead for half time, 1-9 to 2-2
Castleconnor pulled away in the second half with the forwards scoring for fun and the backs cleaning up the few balls that came into their half. Matthew Cullen, Jack O'Hora, Tomás Cawley and Brian Howley all came into the match, each making on impact on the game. A goal from Kevin Langan put the nail in the coffin on a game that really ended long before. There was time for more points from Stephen Curly and Matthew Cullen before the match ended at 2-19 to 3-4.
