This was a rip roaring contest with the lead changing hands 3 times in the last 4 minutes. We got off to a good start but were slow to score, however young Colm Naughton put over a good point and this was followed by a screamer of a goal from who else but Ronan Murphy. Mícheal Cahill and Oisín Flynn scored two more points but we were rocked when the visitors scored two goals in quick succession .

Colm Naughton got another good point but we trailed as the halftime whistle was about to be blown when Seán Carrabine went on a strong run and despite a great save by the keeper Ronan Murphy got his second of the night to lead 2-4 v 2-2 at the break.

We got off to a flyer of a second half scoring two goals and a point in the first five minutes Paul Flynn and Carrabine getting the goals and another point from play by Seán Carrabine who was everywhere.  As the half moved on the visitors gradually came back into it and with 8 minutes left had equalised and then moved in front. We drove down the field and the young lads Oisín Flynn, James Tully and Dáire Barrins put Colm Naughton in for a well taken point.

Danny O'Hora and Benny Foody broke up a Johns attack and a breaking ball was won by Dáire Barrins who was clothes lined and Seán Carrabine scored a great free from the ground. The next two kickouts were won by our lads and Carrabine who was easily the man of the match drove over two more points from play to secure the win.

Johns broke up the field but once again Benny Foody, Niall Judge and Fergal Boland snuffed it out to secure a very important win for the team.
