The team traveled to Ransboro more in hope than in confidence for the replay of the shield final. In the first round of the championship we lost by 20something points but following the defeat of Enniscrone the previous week the team were playing well.

We played with the breeze in the first half and got off to a blistering start scoring a goal early on. Paul Flynn and Seán Carrabine were having stormers in the middle of the park and we turned over at half time 1-8 v 0-4 in front.

The second half our tenacious defenders stepped up and never let the Coolera attack function. Danny O'Hora was winning a lot of ball in the full forward line and one of his passes setup us up for the all important goal of the half. With 7 minutes to go we lead by 4 but in the last minute we survived three frees which were all dealt with by the defence.

Winning by one the team have qualified for the B championship final versus Eastern Harps. It is a credit to the players and management the way they have turned around their season over the last number of games.
